The child loves Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, graphic novels. Would love suggestions on chapter books or graphic novels featuring BIPOC antagonist written by BIPOC. Characters who non-binary or queer are also greatly appreciated. Gore and horror are not their speed.

I’m not entirely up on the most recent iteration of acronyms, but I’m fairly sure it doesn’t mean Brut Infused Pieces Of Cheese.
If only because cheese can’t write.
Going by the latter part of the request, though, the Last Herald Mage trilogy ^(Magic’s Pawn, Magic’s Promise, Magic’s Price) by Mercedes Lackey may count. Part of the Valdemar Series, it is one of the earliest mainstream fantasy books with an openly-gay main character.
In the series as a whole, there are quite a few gay characters of both genders, the most powerful being the mage Firesong (who is descended from the main character of the LHM trilogy).
