I started reading this book today and I’m intrigued by the premise. I enjoy dark dystopian stories (like hanmaids tale). However, there seems to be an excessive amount of description of human bodies and cannibalism. Does this reduce over time? Is it just like this for the first few chapters to set the scene? I am reading for the plot not for the gruesome descriptions of severed body parts. I can put up with bits of it if it’s relevant to the plot but so far it seems like it’s 50% horrific descriptions

Not particularly – did you read the synopsis before starting? It’s very much “it’s what it says on the tin.”
There is not much plot.
It’s a pretty gross read. But interesting. But definitely gross.
