I'm still new to horrorlit, but I figured I'd ask here since I'm looking for suggestions. So far I've read (with ratings)
- The Patient ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Tender is the Flesh ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and Other Misfortunes ⭐️
- I'm Thinking of Ending Things ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I hope this history gives you a good idea of what I like and what I'm looking for. I can do gore, but only a little. No splatterpunk. I prefer suspense and psychological horror. Thanks!

My favorite horror book is The Terror by Dan Simmons.
Our wives under the sea is unsettling and beautifully written, but lacks ‘something’ I expected. It can work for you.
you can check if it suits your taste.
I think Cipher by Kathe Koja is more in line with what you like, this isn’t my favorite 🙂
