Hey all, I'm sick this week and not doing much. I'm after some glamour and escapism, but preferably not anything with teenage protagonists or anything that can be easily broken down into tropes.
Very much here for gorgeous locations, beautiful clothes, women being fabulous and funny and liking one another. Can take or leave romance, bonus points for the glowing up of people, houses, views on life etc etc. Not necessarily after a beach read/ bonkbuster, but not against. Love anything post-divorce.
Previous titles that have scratched this itch include: Lace, Crazy Rich Asians, Valley of the Dolls, The Perfume Collector by Katherine Tessaro, Under A Tuscan Sun, various Marian Keyes titles.

i wasn’t originally going to recommend this, but reading the synopsis again reminded me just how lush and gorgeous and fabulous the setting was for the entirety of this story. from the location, to the clothes they wear, the food and wine they drink, the way they smoke, etc, everything is just glamorized and elevated.
