I read The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa once and thought that it was so beautiful. I ended up reading a lot of his poems because of that book—in English. However, my friend; a Portuguese speaker, keeps telling me that no translation ever can make a justice towards Pessoa's works.
It makes me sad for a long time because learning a language has always been a struggle for me (even my English is still not good) and the idea of not being able to read Pessoa in its original language, ever, no matter how hard I try, just shattered my soul.
I want to read more book from another culture but afraid that English version ruin or even change the meaning. So, please, suggest me the one that did justice to the original version:)
