Title pretty much says it all; the sunshine character just keeps getting beat down, emotionally or physically. They keep on a brave face, until they can’t anymore and their partner or found family patches them back up. Basically hurt/comfort but to the extreme.
I read a lot of Voltron-Lance-angst-wump fanfic in middle school and I need that feeling again.
“Character A has been covering up a bullet wound that was meant for character B, and B realized what has been done when A finally collapses” type vibes.
I’d also like themes of self harm or depression, but only if it’s dealt with in a respectful way/ well written.
