I’m trying to get my younger brother to read more; he was one of those kids who loved books as a kid but then pretty much immediately ceased the habit after getting into video games. I read a ton and my Mum has been trying to persuade him to get back into reading and spent less time on his computer so I got him to agree to a ‘book club’ where I’ll take him to cafes and things while we discuss what we’ve been reading. I’m trying to put together a list of good reccs for him to pick from for his first book. He likes history and war type things but doesn’t have a great attention span for long dense material. He isn’t super into ‘fantasy’ and hero’s-journey type books but he likes fantastical elements and low/modern fantasy stuff. I think anything that’s witty and keeps your attention easily would really appeal to him. Thank you!!
