I have been an avid non-fiction reader ever since i started reading since childhood. I have always preferred non-fiction over fiction as a personal choice. Now, i have decided to delve into fiction novels.

I am so confused where to start from. Although i have read some of fictions like The Alchemist, Harry Potter series, Ruskin Bond etc. Hence i am looking for some good fiction recommendations.

Kindly don't recommend any fantasy or YA novels.

I would say historical or realistic fiction that takes real past events, or realistically possible events that could happen irl, and browse from there. There’s so many even in this category that you’d have to specify what type of narrative you’re looking for. Any particular form of conflict (man vs self, man vs nature, etc.) or a particular trope or archetype you have in mind? Old classics or more contemporary books? That can help narrow it down.

My recommendations from books I’ve read and 100% enjoyed would be “A Tale for the Time Being” by Ruth Ozeki and “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” by Jamie Ford.
