Yaaaar, not sure why this specific genre is so tough to get recommendations for, yar. I'm gonna buy me a bromine candle and read some fantastical pirate adventures. On Stranger Tides was great! And Treasure Island is a classic! But literally every single supernatural-adjacent pirate book I've seen recommended either takes place in a different world (no interest whatsoever, it MUST be in our world), or doesn't take place in the Caribbean (it MUST take place in the Caribbean for aesthetic and vibe purposes). I'm really surprised there aren't dozens of well known fantasy pirate adventures that ape the trappings of the Disney ride. Big hats, buried treasure, palmtree-lined port towns, ghosts, mermaids, the wind at your back, etc. It seems like such a shoe in to me, but On Stranger Tides is the only thing I've come across that scratches that itch.
