I recently read both The Making of the Atomic Bomb and Dark Sun: The Making of the Hydrogen Bomb by Richard Rhodes and thoroughly enjoyed each. The technical physics and chemistry, the history, and the engineering challenges were all super fascinating to me. What are some other books that, while maybe cannot equal the scope of the atomic and hydrogen bombs, but tell a story of engineering or other similar technical challenges and accomplishments?
