I read about a book a week and getting in a spot where I'm struggling to find books that hold my attention. I really don't like investing too much time on getting 100 to 200 pages in and feel like I can walk away and be fine not knowing how it ends. I still always finish the book, but at this point I know what I like just don't know many options to check out.
So for example, I really enjoy books that are nonfiction but read like a fiction. Killers of a flower moon, the Wager, Banner of Heaven, Into the Wild, Endurance, etc. Mostly historical but also thrillers seem to hold my attention.
I'm also looking for a fiction series that stays strong book to book. I really enjoyed Child 44 and coinciding books. I found American Assassin books good at first but by book #4 it felt same ole same ole.
Let me know your suggestions. Ready to dive into a good book!

Stephen Fry’s Troy, I like how he links old Greek stories and legends about the Trojan War and structured it like a modern fiction novel.
Red Notice by Bill Browder had me hooked from start to finish!

I’m reading The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. Might qualify if you haven’t already read it (I know, I’m late to the party).
Underground by Haruki Murakami. Yes that Murakami. It feels similar to novels like WWZ.
