Good afternoon all,
I've been on a bit of a sci-fi kick recently and have come to learn what type of sci-fi novels I like best. I read both The Expanse and Red Rising series all the way through and loved them. Andy Weir and Blake Crouch are super fun for me. I'm currently reading The Dark Forest by Cixin Liu. Seveneves by Neal Stephenson is probably in my top 5 at this point, and might best describe what I'm looking for. Starts in the present on Earth, humanity faces a crisis, then escapes to space.
Basically, I like sci-fi based in our universe/reality and want more contemporary suggestions (a lot of the classics are on my list already). I definitely enjoy space travel and action. Sex and violence are not deal breakers. Thanks!
