With the recent events in the Middle East, I’m thinking about re-reading The Haj by Leon Uris…. read it years ago, and, although I can’t remember all the details, it left me with an appreciation of the complexity of conflict.
2 things:
1. Is it still, or was it ever, a reliable source of Middle East history?
2. Can you suggest a work of historical fiction that accurately, unbiasedly portrays the region?
(it seems to me tv talking heads and rapid-fire social social media are ignorant of historical context- I need an informed reading list)
