Hi there, folks, just moved houses and while my previous studio used to get absolutely no sunlight with its curtains closed the new flat has basically floor to ceiling double-glazed windows all over the living room (and also in significant parts of the bedroom). I'm renting, so I can't really put UV film on the windows themselves, and my partner isn't too keen on keeping the curtains closed and turning the house into a cave (also the curtains on the living room are the opaque white ones rather than black-out ones anyway). I'm looking for new bookshelves as well, and thought maybe these from Ikea would be a decent choice: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/billy-oxberg-bookcase-with-glass-doors-brown-walnut-effect-s39483318/

Any idea where I could get some UV film for the windows, though? Or alternatively any suggestions of other means of protecting my books from sun damage while also displaying them in the living room? Any ideas would be much appreciated!

The Billy Oxberg bookcase from Ikea with glass doors could be a practical choice, providing some protection while still displaying your books. However, it’s essential to position the shelves away from direct sunlight to minimize exposure. If you’re set on UV film, check hardware stores or online retailers for removable options that adhere to windows without leaving residue.
