Hi everyone!
I read like an ungodly amount during middle school and into high school, but the past few years my consumption has gone way down. I’ve picked up a few books here and there but it’s been hard for me to find books that I’m excited to read.
I’m open to hearing about/looking into a lot of different kinds of books, although I feel like my taste is in a weird spot where I find myself really enjoying literary fiction-y books that have an interesting premise and/or writing style. I’ve also found that I like books that explore the concept of love (platonic or romantic).
That’s probably not super helpful, so maybe a few books that I have read recently and enjoyed clarifies what I mean a little bit:
Terrace story by Hilary Leichter – I really liked this one (and also Temporary but this one more)
This is how you lose the time war by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone – probably my favorite book of all time, I just love how it’s written
Oh William! by Elizabeth Strout – this one was good, I think if I disliked the writing style it might’ve been a little boring but Strout nailed the conversional style that she used
Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin – I thought this was just a fantastic great story
