Suggest me a fiction book I can read on an airplane but not one that is a traditional beach read (meaning I don’t want anything too rom-com or YA). Something that won’t be super heavy but also not something that is not particularly mundane.

    OR….

Alternatively, something that you would normally find boring but because you’re confined to the plane seat & there is no distractions, the book actually captures your attention). Something that would actually benefit from the flight & make me more interested (so I guess something that requires focus).

Falling – it’s a thriller that takes place on an airplane and was written by an airline attending. i haven’t looked at flying the same way since LOL. very fast paced read and great for a flight

I read all of Red Rising by Pierce Brown on a plane. It’s kinda like Hunger Games meets Ender’s Game, definitely skewing adult. It’s heavy~ish scifi, but the chapters are really well paced to make it a page turner. I would put it down to do something else, get bored incredibly quickly, and pick it back up again.

    3. Stephen Coonts – *Flight of the Intruder*!

Coonts, himself is a former naval aviator. He brings his firsthand knowledge and experiences to the story, making it both thrilling and realistic. Whether you’re a fan of aviation fiction or simply looking for an adrenaline-fueled adventure to pass the time during your flight, *Flight of the Intruder* is sure to deliver.

Check out Emily St. John Mandel. I think her style would vibe with your requests 🙂 I particularly enjoyed Station Eleven and The Lola Quartet.
