I really like books that take an anthropological look into history of certain ideas/concepts like David Graeber's books, especially Debt. I was wondering if there were books that take a holistic look into the major ideas, values (human rights, equality, freedom), belief systems (like romanticism) and points of contention or exclusion (like homophobia, globalisation) that we take for granted today. I would prefer books that cast a wider net but if the book is enlightening enough, a specific topic would work as well. Basically looking for something that explains how we reached our current widely accepted belief systems. Thanks in advance.
