While I read it as opposed to listening, the audio book of World War Z is supposed to be top notch.

If you like Star Wars, every Star Wars audiobook I’ve listened to has a ton of soundscaping that makes it immersive. There’s a score, and you hear things like doors opening, blasters firing, alarms going off, etc.

I don’t know how it is on audio but Children of Time sucked me in very quickly. Also The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. One that was great on audio was Replay by Ken Grimwood.

The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis is excellent. I’ve been reading it at night and listening to it on my commute, and I think the audiobook is incredible. Classic time travel sci-fi, with twists and good writing.

Oddly enough as a dude, Girl on the Train is what ignited my current 12 year long daily audio book habit.
I LOVED all the Robert Langdon audio books. Currently also working through the James Bond series. Absolutely helps a ton with stress and anxiety

Brandon Sanderson wrote this fun coming of age series called Skyward. I listened to the audiobooks and it’s really good for YA (which you’d expect for Sanderson). It’s all action/adventure/space ships/robots/aliens/sci-fi and very little unnecessary romance.

Lock in and it’s sequel Head On by John Scalzi. Both are written so that MC could be male or female. Wil Wheaton and the female narrator are very good.
