I was recently reading some classic literature by Hermann Hesse and noticed how many of them feature prominent male friendships. I read The Prodigy and Demian, and the characters are very close to each other, to the point where it can be read from a lens of queerness. Particularly in The Prodigy, the male lead and his friend share kisses and behave almost romantic, a step above typical friendships portrayed in literature. Are there any other classic novels you felt could be read as queer?
