So far I’ve only read 28 pages but it feels more like 200. I know this is a book for a *specific type of reader* (or so they say) but I decided to purchase it after reading many good reviews about it.
I might be missing the point, but I find it really really tedious. I am just unsure where it is going or what to think of the characters.
Has anyone finished it? Does it get “better”? If I DNF it, will I have any regrets?
    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

    1. DNF for me but I didn’t try hard. When I put it away I thought I might pick it up again someday, but I might not. I’d already forgotten I thought that.

    2. It very suddenly gets much better. I also felt like you at the start but ended up loving the book. It’s tricky to reveal more without spoiling things (even saying that is a bit of a spoiler), but I think it’s worth sticking with. Obviously you might still hate it, but it’s a short enough book that you won’t have wasted too much time if you do.

    3. It’s a slow build, but the whole book isn’t that long. Once you’ve read through the first chapters establishing the House and Piranesi’s experiences within it, the abnormalities start accumulating and the pace picks up. I agree that not every book is for every person (I’m currently struggling with _Lonesome Dove_ solely because everyone talks about it so much) but I think _Piranesi_ is short enough to push through and see what it’s building towards.
