I have recently gotten into my Greek mythology era and am wondering if there any are any good novels/lore about Christian/Jewish mythology/historical texts rewritten. I just finished reading The Song of Achilles and Circe by Madeline Miller and I am in love with the way she had a queer feminism take on The Iliad and The Odyssey, such ancient and familiar stories with a fresh narrative. I want to read the love story between David and Jonathan. I want to read the first person perspective of Ester. I want to read fan-fiction of the teens bullying Elijah for being bald so he sent bears to maul them. I want more lectio narrativa and Those Who Wait from Tanya Marlow. I want the book form of the masterpiece The Prince of Egypt. I want the modern retelling of Noah, but much better than Bruce Almighty. I want season 2 episode 2 of Good Omens with Job as a whole novel. As a mostly-ex-Christian, I want to find new perspectives in engaging narratives of the ancient texts and Bible stories I was raised with. Does this exist?
