“The Big Two-Hearted River” by Earnest Hemingway is set in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A short story, but a classic amongst us who grew up in Michigan. Highly recommend.
“A River Runs Through It” by Norman Maclean is technically set in Montana, so not exactly Great Lakes regions, but I honestly think it captures a very similar the natural setting.
