Hey, guys. I don’t know if this is the best sub to post this cause of the difference between magazines and books, but I didn’t know where else to post it so I thought it’s worth a try here.

Basically I want recommendations on magazines. I just discovered an older magazine series related to some of my political views and I read some articles from an issue, and it just felt kind of cool reading it. I’m 19 so/and I’ve never really been a subscriber to any magazines. I also don’t think it’s that it’s very easy to keep up with magazines, at least personally. There are so many small things you can read, I don’t know if I have time for them all.

But I enjoyed reading the magazine I discovered so I was wondering whether there were any magazine series, even from the past, that could be read in 2024 and provide some knowledge or enjoyment.

Now you’ll say: “Magazines about what???, man”. Well, about anything. From history to science to politics to animals, any other interesting stuff you can gain knowledge about, or about forms of art, short stories, comics, anything that you know of.

    1. Public libraries typically provide magazine access (including digital), which gives you the chance to try a mix. And a rec — if you’re interested in history/culture, including some deep dives, try Smithsonian Mag.
