**The Screwtape Letters** by CS Lewis is a collection of letters from a senior demon to his trainee. Note, it is mostly just cute, and intended as Christian inspiration. But I think it’d be a fun read for anyone.

    2. I don’t recall the story going all the way to hell, but aside from that, [Up Jumps the Devil by Michael Poore](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13426056-up-jumps-the-devil?ref=nav_sb_ss_2_13) is exactly what you want. Poore’s writing is really natural language – he sounds like you talking to your friends, but funnier. It’s a really great book about the contemporary Devil, his past experiences, his love for an angel, and the people whose lives he’s signing away.

For an insane version of Hell itself (once you are there – not getting there) you might want to check out [Hell by Robert Olen Butler](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6354310-hell).

    3. *Life from Uncommon Stars* by Ryka Aoki is told from the perspective of different characters, one of whom has sold their soul. There is only one(?) chapter from the perspective of the demon responsible for the deal, but he appears throughout the book and is seen at work.
