I really want a romance book involving a non-human entity that also doesn’t go into bestiality territory and doesn’t have lengthy scenes about throbbing monster cock. Bonus points for queer MCs, spooky (but not nauseatingly grotesque) stuff, and shapeshifting. I need a book that feels like a PG-13 *Shape of Water* or *Frankenstein* as a rom-com where someone gives the Creature a hug, if that makes a lick of sense. (My faaaave genre is Gothic romance, for context, but no one understands what I mean when I say that.)
