I’ve been an avid reader my entire life and after a 4-5 year hiatus I’m back in it. I love fantasy it’s my favourite genre, I enjoy a little spice but it is 100% not needed over quality of plot & my emotions being destroyed.
I’m not only looking for books that I’ll love, but that get better with each re-read.
Series/Books that I love:
* Throne of Glass – This book destroyed my emotions in the best way. I loved the world
* Inheritance Cycle – I loved Eragons journey as well as the entire world/magic system
* The Five People You Meet in Heaven – I love this book so much
* Harry Potter – My first childhood fantasy series I remember waiting for each book to come out and devouring them immediately.
* Mistborn – The last book in this trilogy was unbeliveable, oh my god the ending was like nothing I ever experianced before.
* Anything by VC andrews – these books are just in their own category.
* Empyrean – My first spicy adult magic school book. I loved how unforgiving Basgiath is and the build up to, assumingly, a huge war coming.
* ACOTAR – Fun series and I never took anything to seriously but ACOWAR was my favourite because of the epic battle
* The Expanse – I LOVE the show and am 1 book deep into it and love it.
* Last but not least Lord of the Rings/Hobbit – Tolkien was my teenage obsession. God I loved this entire world. I wrote essays FOR FUN on Middle Earth lol.
Now on the other side of the spectrum these are books I have ethier DNF’ed or finished but I gave them 1 or 2 star review because they just weren’t my taste and I wish I could bleach my brain of them:
* The Zodiac Academy – Someone recommended this to be and the second I saw “bae” after 3-4 chapters of absolute nonsense I packed the book back into it’s amazon box and shipped it back.
* A Fate Inked in Blood – Cool premise I guess but it was just smut with no good plot. I did not feel one emotion during this entire read
* The Witcher – The first few were good but the last 3 had me scoffing. I’ll stick to the games lol
* The Shepherd King Duology – I did not enjoy the poetry like writing in this book. The second book was a disappointment to me.
What would be your recommendations for me to read based on these lists?
