I want to get back into reading like I used to but haven’t had a decent book that sucks me in like I used to. I want to start reading a little more and backing off of video games and the like. Some of my favorite novels include the Inheritance series (Christopher Paolini), Ready Player One, Merlin Series by (T. A. Barron), and also Leviathan by Scott Westerfield. As you can probably tell I like fantasy and sci-fi stories and anything with the characters leveling up or getting new items/abilities. Thanks for any help yall may provide!

You could try “Brave New World”
For me it was the turning point from fantasy to non-fiction. It’s still fiction but the captivating part is the ethical dilemma you face as the reader.
If you don’t feel like reading at all, you could also re-read something you already love (I just finished my 8th time reading Brisingr) but beware, you might get uncomfortable if a book you love starts really slow and you get the feeling you don’t like it anymore (again, I have Eragon in mind)

Circadian Algorithms is a fun technothriller about gaining the ability to reduce sleep and lucid dream while otherwise awake.
