The Curious Incident of the dog in the Night-Time
In a Different Key: The Story of Autism does a great job of covering the history of Autism and doing its best to remain neutral and informative without taking sides.
Animals in Translation by Temple Grandin
Look me in the Eye by John Elder Robson
And that book “Neurotribes”
Uniquely Human – Barry Prizant
Differently wired – Deborah Reber
Unmasking autism. – Devon price
Unmasking autism sounds like a good one for me start with , thanks
*Visual Thinking: The Hidden Gifts of People Who Think in Pictures, Patterns, and Abstractions* –Temple Grandin
Dr. Grandin is herself on the spectrum. Well researched, well written.
I haven’t read a lot of nonfiction about it, but if you’d like some fiction recs too
– Act your age Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert (adult romance)
– a kind of spark by Elle McNicoll (middle grade)
I will die on this hill: Jules Edwards and Meghan Ashburn [I will die on this hill](https://bookshop.org/p/books/i-will-die-on-this-hill-autistic-adults-autism-parents-and-the-children-who-deserve-a-better-world-meghan-ashburn/18567996?ean=9781839971686&gclid=CjwKCAjws9ipBhB1EiwAccEi1HJGYGvRjz_Y6YarxCvS_YETp2PlIi9Xb7XYJP047vSZrpq_5wljuhoCpGAQAvD_BwE)
Also not “about autism” but Raising Human Beings by Ross Greene is an excellent resource for parents
