i see a bunch of books about trans females. but i’m a trans male so i’d like to find books about those. i’ve seen a couple, but it’s always about how society works and not really a story if you get what i mean. I want a story about a trans boy. whether it’s him falling in love, how he figured himself out, how his life is in school, etc.
I do ask if the book is specifically about love, that it be a straight relationship. i know that sounds so weird and homophobic. but i like reading books i relate to. im not gay. in fact i dislike how people automatically assume that trans people are gay/bi too. so i’m trying to stay away from that stereotype. unless if it’s a crazy good book and the relationship doesn’t define the whole book, i’d rather it be a straight relationship. no hate.

Cemetery Boys fits most of this (and is a good read). The romance is gay however.
*These are the books I’ve read that feature heterosexual men.*
**Continental Divide** by Alex Myers- contemporary romance. CWs: >!transphobia, homophobia, assault, toxic masculinity!<
**Future Feeling** by Joss Lake- scifi/satire/a big mess
**Stay Gold** by Tobly McSmith- YA contemporary CWs: >!transphobia, homophobia, assault, toxic masculinity!<
**The Art of Being Normal** by Lisa Williamson- YA contemporary
**When the Moon Was Ours** by Anna-Marie McLemore- YA magical realism
*If you’re open to non-heterosexual men who aren’t in relationships with men:*
**The Spirit Bares its Teeth** by Andrew Joseph White- YA horror, MC is bi and in a relationship with a woman CWs: >!transphobia and deadnaming, extreme misogyny, homophobia, ableism, pregnancy, pedophilia, detailed surgery scenes, gore!<
**Dead Collections** by Isaac Fellman- paranormal romance, MC self-identifies as straight but his partner is gender-fluid. It’s kinda lesbophobic tbh
**The Raven Tower** by Ann Leckie- fantasy, MC is bi and the romance subplot is with a woman
*If you’re open to trans men supporting characters rather than main characters:*
**The Wayward Children** series by Seanan McGuire- YA portal fantasy with a hetero trans man
**Machineries of Empire** trilogy by Yoon Ha Lee- space opera with a hetero trans man
**To Be Taught, if Fortunate** by Becky Chambers- scifi with an asexual trans man
**The Vanishing Half** by Brit Bennett- litfic with a hetero trans man CWs: >!racism, domestic abuse!<

Here’s a couple I have read:
When The Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore – magical realism
Beautiful Music for Ugly Children by Kirstin Cronn-Mills – contemporary high school
I’m personally queer, so I seek out and read a lot of books with queer/mlm trans main characters. If you can find it within yourself to read ones with queer/mlm romances here are some I’ve read or intend to read:
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas – fantasy
May The Best Man Win by Z.R. Ellor – contemporary high school
Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender – contemporary
Hell Followed With Us by Joseph Andrew White – post apocalyptic fantasy
The Witch King by H.E. Edgmon – fantasy
I have read some memoirs by transmasc people attracted to women, but they’re not really fully binary trans men. There’s:
Gender Failure by Ivan Coyote and Rae Spoons
Nina Here Nor There by Nick Krieger
