Although it was a tough read due to the context of the book, Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robbin Talley was the only book I ever read in which two girls end up together and happy with each other.

I’d prefer if the writer is a woman because the male gaze is usually a bit lesbophobic and fetishized.

I’ve also only watched the series so far, but I’m considering reading the heartstopper books, but if you know any, I’d prefer one in which the girls are the main focus.

it’s a bit cheesy at times but i enjoyed it.

    3. The Alpennia books by Heather Rose Jones are Fantasy Romance. All four books have f/f couples. They’re set in a fictional country in the Alps a few years after the end of the Napoleonic Wars. *Daughter of Mystery, The Mystic Marriage, Mother of Souls,* and *Floodtide.*

    4. If you’re into historical romance, look into Olivia Waite’s series! They’re lovely and are also pretty good at being historical novels (which is not always the case in historical romance, let’s be honest).

Becky Chambers’ books, suggested by someone else in the thread, are also pretty good (but whilst all of them are queer, not all of them would fall under the lesbian umbrella, I think?)

*On a Sunbeam* by Tillie Walden is a good match if you’re fine with graphic novels. It was originally published as a webcomic, so I find the story to lack consistency at times (plus, it tends to introduce random elements without elaborating), but it’s a fun, futuristic adventure with one central lesbian romance and another on the side, both wholesome. Plus, the illustrations are gorgeous.

One of the best LR series I ever read was “When Women Were Warriors” by Catherine M. Wilson.

    8. A Curse of Roses by Diana Pinguicha but it does have some religious TWs to it.

The Lyremouth Chronicles by Jane Fletcher is a fantasy series.

Wow TIL I have a lot more lesbian tragedies than lesbian happily ever afters.
