Whenever I need to relax, I turn to The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
It whisks me away to Middle-earth, and I get lost in the adventure. Its enchanting narrative, vivid world-building, and endearing characters offer a perfect retreat.
This classic masterpiece immerses me in a world of enchanting narrative, vibrant world-building, and endearing characters. The epic journey of Bilbo Baggins as he traverses through Middle-earth’s wonders takes me on an adventure that keeps me coming back.
It’s like a comforting friend in book form.
If you have a book that provides a similar sense of escape and relaxation, please do share your recommendations.

I’m in my 40s and will always revert to the Chronicles of Narnia when I want to escape
For me it’s always either Harry Potter or Twilight.
When I want to escape (which is all the time), I usually look for a new world to escape to. But if I had to choose one fictional world to return to, it would be *His Dark Materials*.
The Inheritance Cylce by Christopher Paolini. It’s LOTR with dragons. 100% recommend audiobook. It helped with the elvish and dwarfish names haha
Hyperion by Dan Simmons and Piranesi by Susana Clark.
