I’ve always been a fantasy reader but I’m looking to read more sci-fi, I don’t know where to start. I’ve read some classics like hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and (attempted) dune. I like all the standard sci-fi tv series like star trek and star wars and firefly etc. I do like futuristic dystopian settings.
    Thank you!

No dystopia, but the books that really brought me into sci-fi were **Project Hail Mary** and **The Martian** both by Andy Weir. Michael Crichton also has some good books.

    2. This might be a nice way to blend fantasy and scifi. Check out the Innkeeper series by Ilona Andrews. Clean Sweep is the first book and it introduces you to Dina who runs an interstellar bed and breakfast with magic powers that are amazing. You’ll meet Sean, a wolf shifter who is the son of aliens (news to him LOL) and Arland, a vampire come to rescue his uncle and find out who killed a family member. The books in the series (5 so far) just get better and better.
