While reading some book about spiders I encountered an entry about Brachypelma Smithi and learned that thanks to exotic enthusiasts and uncontrollable exploitation these spiders landed on endangered species list. So naturally I became more curious about the topic of animal exploitation and exotic pet trade and want to learn more. Everything from monkeys being forcefully separated from their mothers, pangolins/rhinos/elephants being killed for their keratin matter, parrots missing their feathers from stress and loneliness up to big cats mauling their stupid owners or reptiles escaping their owners back to the wild and destroying local ecosystem. I’ve already read One and only Ivan and enjoyed it except the ending.
