I’m reading a scifi book that describes what happens to humanity in the future.
I really like when authors add details that are just there for world building or social commentary without necessarily being tied to the storyline. How history unfolded for the next centuries, predictions about social issues , technologies, etc.
Do you have some good examples to share?
Here’s mine. From the third instalment of the Three body problem
With peace on earth and advanced technology, extreme masculinity as we know it now (beards, muscles, large frames) becomes less desirable. More graceful and slender body types becomes the norm and men start being almost indistinguishable from women. Author loosely ties this to the kpop boyband frenzy that took over the world a few years ago.

In Warhammer 40K, they have nuns with guns (Adepta Sororitas). I’m not sure If I should find that hot or scary. I think about such a future quite often.
Wow, thats quite curious about T3BP, i guess i dropped the book before that part you’ve just mention. But i gota say, i’m really surprised by it. From what get reading his female characters, i can safely say this guy barely talked to any woman for more than 10 minutes.
