I am ahead of my reading goal for the year and so I feel like I can start reading some longer books now. I love the story of Les Mis in the musical and I have bought the book – however a 1000+ page classic is just so daunting to me so its remained untouched on my shelf for ages.
I have read a few classics before but not many – Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, some Daphne du Maurier, a Christmas Carol – but I think these are all considered fairly “easy” classics whereas Les Mis is kinda throwing yourself in the deep end.
I also mainly read fantasy books but am trying to broaden the range of types of books I read.
How long did it take you to read it? Is it worth it?
