Hello! I’m researching a book on really fresh, creative uses of AI. Not so much to help us do things we’ve been doing ourselves — artworks, writings, etc. — but to accomplish things that were impossible before AI made them possible. Aza Raskin — partner and co-founder with Tristan Harris of the Center for Humane Technology — is applying AI to learn the grammar and vocabulary of whale communication. He hopes AI will enable him to establish contact and launch a conversation. That’s one terrific model. Another is a rumor I’ve heard, of a philosophy teacher who’s adapted AI to tutor students by asking Socratic questions, challenging the assumptions behind every answer a student gives. Another fine model. Does anyone know of other clever applications, anything comparable to those two examples? of course, in a book format
