I just finished The Butterfly Garden and I have issues!
Major spoiler alert.
What the actual hell was up with the ending? I enjoyed the book enough, but the ending felt so random and haphazard. Her friend Sophia popped back up out of nowhere and somehow tied into everything – which apparently was supposed to be the big secret she was hiding from investigators the entire time. But I felt like I didn’t even know or care enough about Sophia to really be that shocked and excited about this “twist”?
It felt like a twist just for twists sakes. I strongly believe not every ending needs some shocking twist.
Has anyone else read this and thought the same? Maybe I’m being overly critical. And maybe I should read the rest of the series before judging too harshly.
