For all the great work Simone de Beauvoir did, Its sort of upsetting to realize her crimes are what she will be remembered for.
I thought the entire chapter ‘childhood’ is such a well written case. I’m a male myself, and I think to see a case that I have no perspective on, so wonderfully projected. I think it was bold, and explains the outrage that took place at the time regarding this work. Her explaining similarities with how a woman is not born but rather developed into one. Its a fascinating explanation. I wonder what everyone else thinks of this book.

Her crimes? I genuinely don’t know what crimes she’s committed…
Crimes?
Yeah agreed. Such an important read. Weird, gross movement about the AoC she got caught up in.
Lerner’s The Creation of Patriarchy is a great book too.
