I love dom/sub, master/slave and power exchange romances. I’m looking for well written romance books with a power imbalance. It could also be movies or short stories, where the female main character is devoted in service to the male love interest. Where the submission is done with enthusiastic consent and she works to fulfill his dreams or plot objective.
I love the gentle dom dynamic and I’m not comfortable reading non-con/SA.
I keep coming across romance books that are badly written soap operas and all about smut instead of portraying a deep, layered relationship. The dom/sub books seem to all be about leather and chains and there’s so much non-con! I don’t care about the smut, I want the relationship itself.
As for the male lead himself, I’m more into an intelligent and manipulative gentleman that a biker himbo with burgeoning muscles, but there’s exceptions when it comes to this preference.
Do you literary consesseurs have any suggestions?
