I(f26) would like some recommendations that are more adult but still in the sci-fi/fantasy realm. I’m currently rereading the House of Night series which I’m not necessarily proud of. That being said, one of my all time favorite books is Dune. I liked Solaris by Stanislaw Lem and the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Some YA that I liked was Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children, Hunger Games, Beautiful Creatures, Maze Runner, and The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. Basically, I enjoy dark, apocalyptic, dystopian type books. Any recommendations would be really appreciated and thank you in advance!

His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. It’s a trilogy.
Don’t feel bad about liking the things you like. I reread House of Night last year (28F) and still thought it was good!
Sci fi
The mountain in the sea by ray nayler is thought provoking about some modern day AI problems comparing it to the way octopus and non human species learn
Fantasy
Fourth wing by Rebecca yarros is slightly spicy but it’s about a college age woman going to a war college for dragon riders
Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse
The Fifth Season by NK Jemisin
Middlegame by Seanan McGuire
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
All Systems Red by Martha Wells
The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson
Most of these are the first in a series, the first 3 more on the fantasy side & the latter 3 more sci-fi
