Hi, I discovered PGW late and was fascinated by his mastery over prose and language. Please recommend similar authors and best books similar to PGW works
Sebastian Faulks did a pastiche novel [writing ‘in the style of’] and managed to do a fair job; it’s called Jeeves and The Wedding Belles.
Other similar dry humour of the era could be Stella Gibbons’ Cold Comfort Farm; Anita Loos’ Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. James Thurber is good too.
If you can find this, Jill Larrimore’s The Bloody Englishwomen of The Maison Puce is excellent. [set 1990s]
For the same very British irony and wordplay [and fun] you can’t beat the wonderful Sir Terry Pratchett. Start anywhere really but I started with Small Gods and never looked back.

He’s unique, there’s no ‘voice’ quite like it…
