Help me find a new book. Historically, I have mostly read books that are considered classics (define that as you may). I’d also look through multiple top 100 lists and then do a quick search to see if the books seemed like they would be of interest of me. Most of the books were good if not great. A few I couldn’t get into. I’m looking for new suggestions. To give you and idea of what I’ve liked, I’ve read many works from James Baldwin, John Steinbeck, William Faulkner, and Richard Wright. Some of my favorite books off the top of my head: Lolita, Crime and Punishment, Native Son, The Book Thief, and The Color Purple. I do recall really liking the dragon tattoo series. I like page turners ( who doesnt). I also really enjoy works that touch on class or racial issues. I do not like romance or sci-fi. Once I ran out of books on vacation so I picked up a Stephen King novel from the pool library. The whole time I’m like this is great story/writing but I see no way how this can end realistically; I forgot that King writes about the supernatural. I need a book to be based in reality. A bit of a stretch is okay as long as it’s plausible. Thank in advance!
