Hi! I’m looking for a book that’s focused on language. I’ve seen these done in sci-fi setting and would prefer that, but am open to other approaches. I find linguistics fascinating, especially when depicted by people trying to comprehend an alien/nonhuman species’ language.
I’m thinking along the lines of The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler. I recently finished Annihilation by Jeff Van der Meer, and my one wish was to find out more about the words the Crawler was creating. I also just started watching Arrival and really enjoy it so far (I still need to finish that movie).
