Years ago I read Le Guin’s *The Dispossessed* and it had an outsized impact on me. A big reason was that it made me ask myself some tough questions about how life should/could be organized. In the story, the people of Anarres live under a sort of idealized anarcho-syndicalism but it wasn’t romanticized.
I’m currently reading some non-fiction books about different economic policies and I find myself wishing that I had some fictionalized versions of them to better understand how life might function.
In particular I’m interested in “degrowth” and how a story might play out in a society implementing it. But any sort of post-capitalist novel would be appreciated. Stories about life after/during a climate/economic crisis; idealistic/pessimistic, etc.
