So I picked up ‘Earthlings’ by Sayaka Murata and went on to read it blind. I am on the first chapter and I enjoy the style, but I had to double take when I saw the “Cousin Yuu is my boyfriend” sentence. (I am aware that the book is gross lol it just kinda shocked me )
I am a bit sensitive to incest because of something that happened in the past. How bad does the incest get? I saw that there were warnings about it but momentarily it just seems like a childish misunderstanding. How immersive is it? I don’t know how to explain it, but the topic itself isn’t what is usually bothersome, it’s when the narrator is not opposed to it/enjoys it/justifies it.
