Alright, so I haven’t had the time to read in what seems to be the good portion of a decade (kids+work). Even before that, I wasn’t really that into books. I’ve always enjoyed a good read, to the point that everyone around me have known about it, but I’ve always prioritized music and films.
Now, I’ve made the decision to get back in the game, and I’m in dire need of some recommendations. Here’s a list (in no specific order) of what I’ve enjoyed in the past:
Stoner
Shantaram
The Godfather
Born to Run
Fight Club
On The Road
Rum Diary
The Road
Help please.

hmm. maybe {{tree of smoke}}? I didn’t totally follow the plot and maybe it’s not for you if you dislike shifting perspectives. but it’s pretty stark and it covers big themes, so there’s that.
{{the electric Kool aid acid test by tom wolfe}} or {{the eden express by mark Vonnegut}} could be good complements to the Kerouac side. other options there: {{Hell’s Angels by hunter s thompson}}. or just straight up Kurt Vonnegut himself.
• The Contender by Robert Lipsyte
• Go by John Clellon Holmes
• The Postman by David Brin

Why do so many OPs in this sub list book titles like this? Do the mods charge for commas or paragraph breaks?
