I really have fell in love with books that take place in the 1920s-1960s which show both the high life and the bad things which come with it like drugs, sex, alcohol and murder. Books like The Great Gatsby, Giovanni’s Room and Breakfast at Tiffany’s are what I have read and group into this genre. I was wondering if there were anymore books like this or if this was called a certain genre or something?

Maybe historical fiction or classic fiction for the time period. Gatsby is also called a roman á clef, fiction based on true historical elements. I’d recommend The Sun Also Rises and On the Road as books you might also enjoy, set in that time period with tragic elements.
