I am looking for a new series to read. I only have two things that are important, and one optional:
1. The main character is not a child (I started reading The Prince of Thornes and was really put off by a 13-year-old being the main character)
2. The series has to be finished
3. If possible not to be set in the industrial era or modern era. I am not a fan of firearm and stuff, swords are better. This is optional though.
Here are my likes/dislikes:
**Liked:**
1. Mistborn by Sanderson (and most of his Cosmere books)
2. Wheel of Time by Jordan
3. Book of Raksura by Wells – I found it really refreshing to read about a character fitting in a new society, same as in Kyralia’s first trilogy. Too many fantasy series are about end of the world. Raksura was not like that (mostly).
4. The Demon Cycle by Brett
5. Age of Five by Canavan
6. Kyralia by Canavan (both trilogies)
7. The First Law by Abercrombie
8. Amber by Zelazny (Corvin cycle)
9. The Night Angel Trilogy by Weeks
10. The Riyria Revelations by Sullivan
11. The Riftwar Cycle by Feist
**Neutral**
1. The Powder Mage by McClellan
**Disliked:**
1. Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne by Staveley
2. The Reckoners by Sanderson
3. Millenium’s Rule by Canavan
4. Lightbringer by Weeks
5. Farseer by Hobb – Loved the idea, human-animal connection. The only reason I disliked it was due to the style and vocabulary. It was really tough.
6. Liveship by Hobb – same as above, but I quit after 20 pages.
Thanks!
