I have read The Left Hand of Darkness and The Lathe of Heaven and loved both. What should I read next from her? I love scifi, like fantasy, and can be intimidated by short story collections.
A Wizard of Earthsea is amazing, especially once you appreciate the influence of Taoism on her work and her aversion to the traditional hero narrative.
If you want to stick with sci-fi, The Dispossessed is her other “must-read” – great look at a hypothetical anarchist society.

The short story The ones who walk away from Omelas as well

Earthsea and The Dispossessed are the logical next steps. Then The Word For World is Forest. Then everything else.

Her book on poetry called *Late in the Day* is really beautiful and her translation of the Tao Te Ching is great. But, whenever people talk about Le Guin I never hear *Always Coming Home* mentioned. It’s incredibly creative and has some amazing quotes. It’s a little tough to get through, but super worth it.
