Hi. In short, I’m looking for Latin American literature originally written in Spanish that might be appealing to a woman in her late 20s trying to connect with her culture as a casual reader.
I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction, and like character-driven stories most. Some
of my recent faves are Pachinko, Territory of Light, and Know My Name. I get very easily put off by misogyny (which has made made Garcia Marquez impossible to get into) and by sexualization of children/minors. I’m also not huge into fantasy or anything with an overly contrived plot.
Anything come to mind? Thanks in advance!
